Artist Statement
I primarily work in oil paint, a medium that allows me to build layered textures reflecting the richness and complexity of the natural landscapes. My pieces attempt to join the bold colors of nature in order to bring life to a still life painting.
Having grown up in my beautiful homeland Lebanon, living steps away from the mediterranean sea has heightened my artistic senses as I witness the shifts in color and light. I am drawn to mountains and natural environments encountered through travel, where dramatic landscapes and changing terrains have left a lasting impression on my visual language.
For me, painting stems from the memories of places. When a painting is successful, it allows me to reconnect with a memory so vividly that I can almost relive the moment itself like the feeling of the air, the pleasant scents or even the taste of a cup of coffee enjoyed there. I consider any artwork of mine to be complete when it conveys these emotions with enough strength that I can feel them again through the painting.
